Pet of the Month.

Kaiser November 2016

Kaiser

How did you come to live with your current family?

I was a kind of rescue dog. My mommy had something very sad happen to her and I rescued her! I was born in a litter of 10 puppies, and my older siblings, Titus, Lexi, and Stella helped my mom see what a good dog I would become. Her friend in Utah (where I was born) gave me to her as a gift. All she had to do was come and get me – I took care of the rest! My first job was to make her laugh and to exasperate her to get her mind off of her troubles. In 2014, my family got bigger when Mom got married and we moved from Seattle to Bellingham.

What Silly or Little known facts should we know about you?

I love it when my mom and dad knock on the back door when I am outside. I grab a ball, shake it like crazy, and try to bark with it in my mouth. Then, I go bananas and run around like a maniac. Also, although I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, I’m afraid of cats. I put up a good front when I see one, but I think they’re scary. We have two cats that live in our house. It’s like having two creepy circus clowns as roommates.

Besides Day Care… what do you love?

I love my brother, Kumo and I love my mom and dad, of course. I love carrying gigantic sticks around in my mouth – the bigger, the better. And I love to go jogging with my mom and dad during the week. Of course, guarding my house from dangerous wildlife – cats and squirrels – is the best! I love my dog friends and the great human friends I’ve made at Tails-A-Wagging! Robby is one of my favorites – and I hear he voted for me to be pet-of-the-month – thanks, Robby!

What are your favorite toys or games?

I love to catch balls… in mid-air, on-the-bounce, off-the-wall. If it’s catchable, I’ll catch it. I also love to swim. Ideally, with a ball in my mouth. I like to play ‘find it’ where my mom and dad hide something from me – my favorite ball, or a treat – and I have to go find it. And, I love to be outdoors – running, hiking, snowshoeing. I’m an outdoor enthusiast!

If you had a major in college…what would it be?

I think I’d be a speech-communications major. I love to talk and I am an enthusiastic speaker, but I need to work on enunciation. I’d like to be able to communicate more effectively with those around me.

What is your ideal job?

I’d like to be a park ranger! I could spend lots of time outdoors and talk to visitors about nature. And, as an added bonus, cats are not allowed in National Parks.

If you wrote a personal ad… what would it say?

What looks like a wolf, sounds like a wolf, but is really a goofy sheep in wolf’s clothing? Me! I might look and sound scary, but I just want to love you! I love other dogs too – I have attended dog school since I was just a pup, and I’m especially fond of little dogs since I was raised with a Scottish Terrier and now live with a Bichon Frise. I am 5 years old and in the prime of my life. I turn 6 on April Fool’s Day – that might explain the goofiness.

With which Star Wars character do you best identify?

This is a no brainer – Chewbacca, the Wookie. I’ve been told we speak the same language.
