Pet of the Month.

Allie July 2010

Allie

How did you come to live with your current family?

My name is Allie (AKA Miss Allie). It used to be Princess. I heard my Mom say that she never got to be a princess so she couldn’t live here with one now. So now I’m Allie… I came to live with my Mom after she (sort of) gave up looking for me. She was telling Aunt Susie at Christmas lunch 2007 that she’d been looking at shelters to adopt from up and down the I-5 corridor for a year. Then Aunt Susie said “let’s go now!” They went to the shelter-the place with all the cages- I was barking so much they covered my cage (Imagine me in a cage!) with a green canvas. But that didn’t stop me. Mom kept trying to turn to look at the other dogs but I just kept barking, barking, barking. She took me outside for a walk and we both knew it was meant to be, love at first sight, a miracle, a match made in heaven. I sealed the deal by immediately peeing on the living room floor (and that’s certainly not my style) but it was my way of saying “I’m home!!”

What Silly or Little known facts should we know about you?

I’m quite willful; I need to hear a lovely lilt in your voice before I do anything; Mom says I’m a shameless hussy with some males; but I just like what I like.

Besides Day Care… what do you love?

I love being rubbed, Mom’s cooking, chasing some males… What are your favorite toys or games? My gutted stuffed animals, burrowing my nose deep into the ground and finding baby mice.

Other information we should know about you?

I want to thank all those who voted for me. I am very thrilled to be appreciated in this way and to represent Tails-a-Wagging as Dog of the Month. It is a great privilege and I will do my very best to live up to the prestigious reputation of T.A.W.

If you had a major in college…what would it be?

Computer sciences: Then I could teach my Mom how to use her computer. (Needless to say, we can’t e-mail you a picture of me so would you kindly take one for my award appearance)

If you wrote a personal ad… what would it say?

Big, Black Cougar, seeks young, agile goofball for long walks on the beach and good conversation… ok, that means me barking and you listening. You need to be silly and lovely, like me, but enjoy some down time too.
