Charlie

How did you come to live with your current family?

They adopted me into their lives when I was 9 weeks old. I was rather frightened to leave my mother and siblings, but soon came to feel right at home with them. They adopted me because Gordon received orders to go to Afghanistan with the Army for a year, and he didn’t want Cheryl to be alone.

What Silly or Little known facts should we know about you?

When a skateboarder or motorcyclist passes our yard, I become so excited I run along our fence, doing 360 degree twirls as I run. People seem to think I am quite a sight.

Besides Day Care… what do you love?

I love being with people, especially those who pay attention to me. In addition to Gordon and Cheryl, their son Tim is high on my list of special people in my life. I love to walk on the trail and chase the ball in the yard when Gordon throws it.

What are your favorite toys or games?

I love to walk to the park and play catch, mostly with Gordon. I also love to push a ball under the sofa, so I can try to retrieve it! Sometimes I need help, bu t mostly I work at it until I can paw it out, then the game starts all over again!

If you had a major in college…what would it be?

My major would be English Literature since I love to sleep by Gordon’s side in his study as he reads his books. Also because, as you can figure out, Gordon’s favorite author is Charles Dickens of England. His works are superb and I am named after him!

If you wrote a personal ad… what would it say?

Have you always wanted to dance but never learned? I can teach you the 360 Twirl, the Sofa Snoop and the Sleepy Plop! Contact me at CharlesDickens.com! The only payment you need to make is hugs, pieces of your chocolate chip cookie, and taking me to Tails-A-Wagging.

Other information we should know about you?

I was born with a heart murmur, and so I take a daily medication, but at last check, but at my last check, my cardiac vet told us my heart has compensated and I should live fairly normal life. Gordon and Cheryl seemed delighted to hear the news!!
