Wag it! Games

This 6 week class offers a variety of relationship based dog training activities full of smiles and wags.

Wag it! Games

“Wag It! Games” is a new sport created by Sumac Grant-Johnson that “Offers a variety of relationship-based dog training activities full of smiles and wags”. It combines “Shadow Skills”, a variety of heeling maneuvers (right, left and behind) including spins, crosses, flips, U turns and finishes, “Sniff it Skills”, “No Need for Speed Obstacle Course”, and “Dog Ball” where dogs learn to maneuver a ball through a course using their noses only. There are 3 levels of competition in Wag It! Games: novice, proficient and skilled…or you can just do it for fun!

Classes teach varied skills, not all skills will be taught in each 6 weeks session, but we can help you determine the skills for each session if you need to know prior to sign-up.

Kerry Mitchell, CPDT-KA is a “Wag It! Games” Tier 2 certified Wag it! Games instructor and will be teaching a 6-week novice class introducing “Shadow Skills”, “No Need for Speed Obstacles”, “Sniff it” skills, and “Dog Ball”.

Teams (one dog one person) must have at least one basic obedience class and dogs must be tolerant of other dogs. Everyone will work at his or her own skill level. The goal of this class is to have fun, learn to work as a team, build confidence, coordination, and life skills, and build your relationship with your dog. And again, to have FUN!!!

***INTEREDIATE class requires students to have taken at least one Wag It! Games class to join***

Class Rules.

All dogs signed up for any of our obedience classes are required to be current on their vaccines, including DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies (if over 20 weeks old).

DHPP, is a combination vaccine, it protects your dog from Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus. Bordetella guards your dog against Kennel Cough, a highly contagious air borne virus in dogs. Rabies is a fatal disease in mammals and is required by law for all dogs. You will be required to show written proof of vaccines prior to the first class.

All puppies are to be as current as they can be, for their age, on their vaccines. This means puppies do not have to be completed on their vaccine series, just as far along as they can be.

We accept vaccines given by your veterinarian only, no final vaccines given by a breeder or owner-administered vaccines will be accepted.

Note: if we have never met your dog before we may need to evaluate your dog prior class start date.
