Pet of the Month.

Lil Maggie July 2023

Your Name:

My people call me Maggie, but I should be called Princess Maggie
or Your Highness.

Pets Name: I have several pets – mostly rabbits. I enjoy chasing them
around my kingdom. I would tell you their names, but you couldn’t pronounce
them.

How did you come to live with your current family?

I let my people live with me after they passed all of the noble challenges and treacherous tests
given by my subjects at the Skagit Humane Society.

What Silly or Little known facts should we know about you?

When I’m notbeing a princess, I’m actually a ferocious guard dog who, unfortunately, is
afraid of her own shadow.

Besides Day Care… what do you love?

My people are pretty cool, but I
especially love my people’s grandson, Liam. I take him for walks, or I should say rolls because he is in a cool chair with wheels. Liam doesn’t say much, which I like, but he can be a little noisy.

What are your favorite toys or games?

Batty has to be my favorite toy. Liam got Batty for Halloween, but he gave it to me. Batty only has one eye left
and his nose was scrumptious.

For enrichment, what do you prefer? food, scent, movement? something else?
I enjoy food prepared by my personal chef as long as it doesn’t come with
scary things like loud noises. Mostly, I love scratches, walks, and bunny
chasing. If I’m lucky, I will happen upon my favorite chewing item – my
people call it a “that-was-my-favorite-pen!” which I think is a silly name.

If you had a major in college…what would it be?

Accounting. I’m not happy until all my people are accounted for.

If you wrote a personal ad… what would it say? Extra special princess enjoying her new kingdom and dedicated subjects. Loves snacks (especially rabbit poo), walks, and beauty rests. Seeks a cozy lap and scratches on warm, summer nights.

Describe your perfect day.

First, I will pounce upon my people just after the birds start to sing. Then, I will tour my kingdom, diligently tracking
anyone who dared to enter without my permission. After breakfast and a thorough zoom around my palace, I will curl up on my throne to ponder the meaning of life. When the sun is high in the sky, I will summon my people
for an exploration of my vast kingdom. My people refer to it as a walk.
This is very treacherous. Sometimes I must challenge wild beasts and fend
off bandits, but it is necessary work. It is also exhausting, so I will
take a much-needed rest upon return to my palace. After dinner and a final
tour of my kingdom, I will take my rightful place amongst my people and
watch over them as they recover from the trials and tribulations of their
day. Of course, I will grant them a scratch or two.

We know your real name is, but what are some of your nicknames?

Mags, Magpie, Magmadoodle, The Maginator, Maggsie, and #%$##!

What was your favorite trip you’ve taken?

Trips scare me, so after the
terror of travel, my favorite destinations are my palace and surrounding
kingdom and, of course, TAW.

Do you have a best dog friend? At Tails or outside of Tails.

I enjoy
visiting with my cousins, Chonzer and Bubbba. Chonzer is a mini-schnauzer
and Bubba is a Bischon Frise, but I don’t hold that against them. Sometimes
I have to growl at Bubba when he gets too close to my people, but Chonzer
is acceptable.

Are you a morning dog or a night owl?

The earlier the better. I especially love 3am “poopoopottie” outings.

Peanut butter or whipped cream?

Peanut Butter, of course. Only peasants eat whipped cream.

Ball or stick? None! they are both scary!

What’s the stinkiest thing you have ever rolled in?

I beg your pardon -princesses don’t stink!

Where is your favorite place to sleep? (and no, you won’t get in trouble if
you say your Hoomon’s Bed). My people’s pillows or my blue fuzzy throne.
Naturally, I also grace my people’s laps from time to time.

Other information we should know about you? Intruders flee in fear from the
ferocious warnings I give inside my glassy perch. In fact, thousands –
maybe millions – have beaten a hard gray path in front of my palace with
their fleeing feet.
