HI, I’m Ravenpaw Hamilton aka Raven

How did you come to live with your current family?
My big sister, Reina, decided that she no longer had fun being in a big group of dogs at Tail’s, but our mom couldn’t take the thought of Reina not having dogs in her life! She knew that with time, Reina was able to make good friends with dogs in a 1:1 setting, so she decided to find Reina the perfect littler sister– and that’s where I came in! Our mom regularly checked the page of the rescue that Reina came from– God’s Dogs Rescue in Texas. One evening as she mindlessly scrolled the page while watching Schitt’s Creek she saw my sweet little face and the rest is history. I was found by some highway workers on a highway called Pearsall in Texas. I was too skinny, all alone, and covered in fleas. They took me to God’s Dogs rescue and I was given all the love and attention I needed to become the perfect, healthy puppy and little sister!

What Silly or Little known facts should we know about you?
My nickname is Jowls because of my awesome neck rolls. They become really pronounced when I’m sleepy. My best friend next door is a tiny terrier puppy and she grabs me by the jowls and leads me around the yard.

Besides Day Care… what do you love?
Lazy mornings, stealing attention from whoever is getting it, giving kisses, receiving kisses, seeing just how close I can get to humans, my big sister, Reina, and of course anything I can eat.

What are your favorite toys or games?
Anything I can rip to shreds. And if you think something cannot be ripped to shreds, I really appreciate the challenge and will be excited to prove you wrong. I also love chase– chasing balls, chasing sticks, chasing other dogs, chasing chickens…

For enrichment, what do you prefer? food, scent, movement? something else?
I really like food but I usually get so excited I forget to acknowledge or chew it. I love to move, whether that’s playing with my friends, chasing toys, or swimming at the beach (as long as there’s a nap promised afterward).

If you had a major in college…what would it be?
Archaeology… you should see some of the digging I’ve done.

If you wrote a personal ad… what would it say?
Beautiful, playful doggy seeks tug-of-war companion.
Must be willing to let me steal treats out of your mouth and not be bothered by it.
Priority goes to small dogs who will not burst my bubble by telling me that I myself am not a small dog.

Describe your perfect day.
My perfect day starts half way through the day. I’ve had time for breakfast and a nap. I then am leashed up for a walk where I can show absolutely no indication of my mom’s efforts to leash train me. The walk takes us to the beach. Hopefully there are other dogs there because I only really like to swim when it’s a competition. My favorite move is to wait for a dog to swim for a stick, then steal it when they’re half way back. Once I’m done swimming, we will walk back for a nap, but this time I’ll nap outside– hopefully I can find a good sun spot. After my nap I’ll play with my sister and perhaps my new friend next door, Frankie the puppy. All of these activities will involve treats. Now it’s time for dinner and snuggling my mom on the couch. And then off to my 14 hour plus sleep!

We know your real name is, but what are some of your nicknames?
Jowls, Tank, little R, Rascal, Crazy Ass

What was your favorite trip you’ve taken?
Last winter I went on a road trip to New Mexico. The car part was long and I generally refused to poop at every stop. But once we arrived I got to romp around the desert and visit humans who I love! According to my mom I even survived my first cactus encounter…I hardly noticed.

Do you have a best dog friend? At Tails or outside of Tails
My sister, Reina. The first thing I do in the morning is give her kisses on the mouth. Even when she gives me a stink face for it I just keep kissing the stink face. She has taught me so much about being a special dog and we are the best friends in the world.

Are you a morning dog or a night owl?
Neither. I will be waiting for my human in bed by 8:00pm, and when she tries to get me up before 9am to go to Tails I get pretty grumpy.

Peanut butter or whipped cream?
Hard to tell the difference when I’m inhaling it!

Where is your favorite place to sleep? (and no, you won’t get in trouble if you say your Hoomon’s Bed)
I have my own set of two pillows next my mom’s where I sprawl out like a starfish… don’t tell anyone

Other information we should know about you?
I’m really good at making humans smile, and am happy to do so if you’re ever having a tough day
