Total Recall

This 3-week class will focus on two main behaviors: wait and come, in a fun exciting way.

Total Recall

This 3-week (only 3 classes, so coming to all three is very important!) workshop will focus on two main behaviors: wait and come. We will explore why our dogs don’t come when called, how to change their behavior from “Maybe I will, maybe I won’t,” to “I cannot wait until you call me so I can come running!” We will explore strategies to change our relationship and our behavior to ensure this is our dog’s favorite trick, and discuss some common mistakes we all make that cause our dogs to not come when called. As part of our approach, we will also learn or refine the “wait” cue, explore how it is different from “stay” and practice it with and without distraction. Because we will be practicing long distance recalls, this class is not appropriate for reactive dogs.
This class is an intermediate class and is appropriate for dogs and handlers who have already completed a basics class. Dogs should already have basic sit and down skills
THE PUPPY EDITION=for puppies less than 1 year who have completed a Puppy Kindergarten Class

Class Rules.

All dogs signed up for any of our obedience classes are required to be current on their vaccines, including DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies (if over 20 weeks old).

DHPP, is a combination vaccine, it protects your dog from Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus. Bordetella guards your dog against Kennel Cough, a highly contagious air borne virus in dogs. Rabies is a fatal disease in mammals and is required by law for all dogs. You will be required to show written proof of vaccines prior to the first class.

All puppies are to be as current as they can be, for their age, on their vaccines. This means puppies do not have to be completed on their vaccine series, just as far along as they can be.

We accept vaccines given by your veterinarian only, no final vaccines given by a breeder or owner-administered vaccines will be accepted.

Note: if we have never met your dog before we may need to evaluate your dog prior class start date.
