The Staff
Owners/operators Angela and Jason Lenz,
have been caring for pets for over 22 years. They originally opened up

many local animal rescue groups. As long time vegans they work hard for
animal welfare and vegan outreach. They both have a goal to educate the
community on ethical issues with animals and work as advocates for non-
violence in all aspect of their lives. Angela loves to work in their organic
garden and can be found all spring and summer long with dirty hands. Jason
is a long time fencer and teaches both to youth and adults locally in

Pudge, our beloved old Chihuahua. We fostered Pudge from WHS in
November 2005 then adopted him when we found out he suffers from
encephalitis, an incurable brain disease. Medication helps control his
seizures and he leads a fairly normal life... of sleeping under the bed
covers and ripping up, his favorite thing, Kleenex! Due to his illness you
won't see Pudge at day care, he's too busy protecting the house.
Morocco
Mole, family member since April 2006. Born via cesarean section from a
Mamma Chihuahua we were fostering for Furbaby Rescue, he is a true joy.
A tiny Chi, at just 3 lbs yet (hey, he's trying) He can wrestle with the
best of them. Morocco's favorite past time is doing a "zoomie"
fly-bys past his siblings and launch into wrestle mode. Morocco can
always be seen hanging his tongue out.
Meg
A bossy wild girl... who absolutely
LOVES her brothers, Percy, Morocco Mole and Pudge. Meg
joined our family in the summer of 2007. She enjoys
running as fast as she can playing tag with the other pups. She
has a big crush on Paco... but don't tell. She loves to "frog"
out her legs and pull herself across the floor... silly girl.

Julie
Growing up on a family farm in Sedro Woolley, Julie's first animal dreams
revolved around horses, this led her to being a horse 4-H member for 8 years
and leader for 2. In 2003 she adopted her first border collie mix, Boots,
and quickly realized that walks and frisbee weren't going to be enough to
keep him happy. After taking agility classes for about 1 year, they went to
their first NADAC agility trial and have been hooked ever since. Julie has
trained three of her own dogs in agility and is actively competing with 2 of
them. She has been sharing her knowledge with others for the past year in
Burlington and at Sunny Land K9 Academy in Sedro Woolley. Her main
focus with agility is that it should be a fun game we play with our pets.
She is also a partner in Woolley Critter Sitters, an at home pet sitting
business providing care to pets in the Sedro Woolley area. She has fostered
for the Humane Society of Skagit County and is currently fostering for
Saving Pets One at a Time (SPOT). Julie shares her home in Sedro Woolley w/
her 4 dogs, 3 cats, chickens, ducks, 2 foster dogs, and 2 horses. |
Jean
Day Care Receptionist now but has worked many positions here at Tails, as we
have been lucky enough to have her with us since March 2003. Pictured here
with her babies Winnie (Lab) and Ping (Big Head). Jean also volunteers at
Brigadoon Assistance Dogs here in Bellingham. |

Anna
Anna knew animals were her passion and
what better way to be happy than to work your passion! Her love of
veterinary sciences and working an externship at a local veterinary
hospital helped her get her love of animals into perspective. When
she is not at work or school at Western- she is usually watching
Animal Planet dog training shows (our favorite one too "Its me or
the Dog") Anna's family of pets includes Sara Bear a Chocolate Lab
and Milli a pitbull terrier. Anna is pictured here with Bandit, a
TAW regular.

Chelsea
Chelsea has been passionate about animals
since early childhood, when she helped her family rescue and foster
puppy-mill dogs in her home town in Michigan, and worked in a veterinary
hospital for a few months. She loves all breeds of dogs, but her
mini-dachshund named Apple is her favorite breed and true love-so much
so that "Apple" is tattooed to Chelsea's ankle so she will forever be
remembered!
Chelsea dreams of becoming a veterinary
surgeon or an animal control officer. We're happy that we have her on
our team!

Emily
Emily has been working at Tails since 10/06.
Growing up, she surrounded herself with animals. She watched her
neighbor pets, volunteered at the Humane Society, and brought home any
animal she could get away with! Her favorite thing to do is play with
her pit bull Ruby, so why not make it a full time gig?! She loves to
play and learn all she can about her buddies here at Tails, and one day
she hopes to have a day care of her own!
|

Kacee
When we first met Kacee, we were
impressed with her calm tone- dogs and staff are immediately put at ease
when near her. Her animal care experience is in pet sitting, showing
and training Dachshunds, 4-H Club for years as well as volunteering at
WAIF animal shelter for 3 years, makes her a true asset to everyone at
TAW. Kacee is pictured here with her buddy Cody M.

Kristin
Kristin joined our team in fall 2008. She
has had animals her whole life and has always loved to be around
dogs- and boy does it show... dogs flock to her when she comes to
work! You can just se them dancing " she's here! she's here!" Kristin
currently has a chocolate lab named Sadie and a jack Russell named
Tinker. Her pet sitting experience over the years has given her great
animal care skills and has introduced her to many different breeds.
|

Laura
It is
great to have Laura as part of our Tails-a-wagging team as she is a true
dog person who firmly believes that dogs are the best type of therapy.
Since age 11, Laura was always looking for places where she could
volunteer working with and helping dogs. Six years later, she discovered
NOAH and happily volunteered there for a year, until moving North to go
to school. Laura hopes that after college graduation she will be able to
pursue a career helping animals. In addition to her time spent with her
four footed friends, Laura enjoys traveling, snowboarding, soccer, and
boating the San Juans!

Lizzie
Lizzie has been a part of the team since 2006. She has always been around dogs; her first two were
hunting beagles (Tom and Dixie) and a massive Newfoundland (K.D. Belle).
She adopted her own dog, Beau (seen here), in 2004. Lizzie is
heavily involved in horse riding and showing. Her great knowledge
of canine social behavior has made her someone we can not do without!
|

Nikki
Nikki joined the TAW family in June 2008.
Her volunteer experience at PAWS (Progressive Animal Welfare
Society) helped her learn animals are her passion and she has a special
gift for special needs pets. Nikki has always been around animals and
her family has shared their house with everything from Brittany Spaniels
to Grey Hounds to South African Boerboel dogs. Right now she shares her
home with her two rats Hazel and Astrid.

Tim
Growing up
Tim always loved animals. Dogs in particular were his best friends. He
begged his parents for a dog of his own, and when he was sixteen they
finally gave in. Zoey Marie Barnaby is pictured with Tim. She is six
years old and makes it so his life is never boring. As a child he
occasionally dog sat for his neighbors and Tim worked briefly
at another doggie daycare and at a breeder of Labradoodles before he
devoted himself solely to Tails! Tim loves all dogs big and small. He
enjoys learning about dog behavior and body language. His favorite
thing to do with hid group is to initiate howl circles! Tim has been a
TAW team member since May 2008
|

Zach
Zach has been with us since Fall of 2006.
His dog Toby, pictured here, is a regular at day care. Zach has
grown up living with dogs and cats, having a total of five dogs and six
cats! His work experience at Petco, as a
dog and cat specialist, has made him a true asset to us. Zach is
currently educating himself on becoming a dog trainer.
